Biao Zhang, Ph.D., Assistant Professor
Biao Zhang received his BEng and PhD degree in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics from Chongqing University in 2009 and 2014, respectively. He was a visiting PhD student at University of Victoria under the supervision of Prof. Ned Djilali from 2012 to 2013. After graduation, Dr. Zhang was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the SintonLab (Prof. David Sinton) at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Toronto from 2015 to 2017, where he focused on developing microfluidics platforms for male fertility. He started his faculty career at Chongqing University as an Assistant Professor in 2017. His current research interests are in fluidics and energy, involving the fundamental and application of microfluidics for use in micro-power source, energy conversion, biomedical diagnosis, and carbon fixation.
