廖强 博士、二级教授、博士生导师;教育部长江学者奖励计划特聘教授、国家杰出青年科学基金获得者、新世纪百千万人才工程计划国家级人选、教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划优秀青年教师资助计划,国务院政府特殊津贴专家,国家重点研发计划项目首席科学家。

现任重庆大学能源与动力工程学院院长、低品位能源利用技术及系统教育部重点实验室主任及学术委员会副主任、工程热物理研究所所长、全国首批黄大年式教师团队负责人,重庆市高校"微生物能源高效转化理论与技术"创新团队负责人、重庆市首席专家工作室领衔专家。为中国工程热物理学会理事、中国高等教育学会理事、高校工程热物理研究会副理事长、中国工程热物理学会传热传质学分会副主任委员、热科学与工程亚洲联盟科学委员会委员、多相流专业委员会委员、国家自然科学基金委第十一届和十二届工程与材料科学部专家评审组成员,工程热物理国家重点学科和动力工程及工程热物理一级博士授权点学科带头人、火灾科学国家重点实验室、铁道车辆热工教育部重点实验室学术委员会委员、火灾与爆炸安全防护控制重庆市重点实验室、福建省清洁燃烧与能源高效利用工程技术研究中心学术委员会副主任。先后担任国际学术期刊《Energy》副主编,《Science Bulletin》、《Applied Thermal Engineering》、《J. of Fuel》、《J. of Technology Innovations in Renewable Energy》、《Heliyon》编委,《Int. J. Hydrogen Energy》和《Int. J. Green Energy》客座编辑,《工程热物理学报》、《重庆大学学报》、《Journal of Chongqing University》、《热科学与技术》、《火灾科学》、《Frontiers in Energy》编委。先后在香港科技大学机械工程系和美国田纳西大学Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Biomedical Engineering进行访问研究。

长期从事传热传质强化、多相流动和热质传输、相变换热及界面现象、微生物能源转化、固体废弃物能源化利用、电子元件散热、微尺度传输等方面研究。作为负责人先后主持国家重点研发计划项目1项、国家自然科学基金重点项目和国际重点合作项目3项、其他国家级和省部级科研项目30余项。发表学术论文400余篇,被SCI收录300余篇,SCI他引2200余次,主(参)著国际学术专著3部,获美国和中国发明专利50项,重庆市自然科学二等奖等省部级科技奖励3项。
